I did a little rearranging in the shop this afternoon, and it seemed to be a good time to take a good long look at the ’32 Roadster while I had it outside. I think the wheelbase, stance and overall look of the car is spot-on.
Steve decided to go ahead and get a new hood for the car from Rootlieb so that it could be painted the same time as the body. I laid out the 3 rows of louvers, and had Kenneth Reierson of Kountry Klassic down in Cranfills Gap, TX punch them for me. In my opinion, his louver dies are the best around for punching real traditional 3″ louvers. They just have the ‘right’ look.
So here’s where the progress on the roadster stands at the moment. Adding the hood gives it a whole new look, doesn’t it?
- The profile with the new hood.
- Profile without hood.
- Looks like it could have rolled right out of 1959.
- Dart passing by at dusk.
